Double Decker Bus Campaign

The school seeks to purchase and convert a double‑decker bus into a mobile library and quiet reflection space for pupils and the wider community.

Pupils require enriched literacy, sensory regulation and community‑connected learning opportunities beyond the current provision.

The project aims to improve literacy engagement, provide calm spaces, enhance life‑skills development and strengthen community relationships. The fundraising target is £50,000 by Summer 2026.

Literacy for Runcorn: Bridging the gap.

The Content: "Runcorn is our home, and we know it faces significant challenges. By converting this bus into a mobile library, we aren't just helping our students; we are creating a resource for the wider community. We want to bring the joy of books and quiet learning to our local families. Every donation to our Fundingwall page today is an investment in the literacy and future employment skills of Runcorn’s young people. Huge thanks to our local supporters like Sigmatex for standing with us!"

Headline: More than just a bus – it’s a sanctuary.

"At Cavendish High, our 108 students face severe learning difficulties every day. For them, a traditional indoor library can sometimes be loud, overwhelming, or inaccessible. We aren't just buying a vehicle; we are building a sensory-safe haven. This double-decker bus will provide the quiet reflection space our pupils need to regulate their emotions and discover a love for reading. We’ve raised £15k through the Friends of Cavendish already—help us get the wheels turning on the next phase!"
