Burscough's Sporting Hub - Donation Page

Help Us Complete Our Community Unity Through Sports Zone at Burscough Village Primary School

We're raising funds to complete Phase 2 of our multi-use sporting hub — a climbing area designed specifically for children that will sit at the heart of our new community sports zone.

Phase 1 is already under way, made possible by:

• £35,000 in grants from Burscough Town Council and Sport England
• £5,000 raised by our PTFA through the colour run and other events

In additon we also had donations from local families and proceeds from our Annie Jr. production

Now we need your help to finish the job. Phase 2 will add a dedicated climbing area for children, completing a space where people of every age — pupils, families, and local residents — can come together to be active, healthy, and connected.

This project is about far more than sport. We know that physical activity builds confidence, strengthens friendships, and supports wellbeing. The finished zone will host football matches, running races, and family fitness days, giving everyone in the community a reason to get involved.

Every raffle ticket, every bake sale, and every donation brings this vision one step closer. This is your chance to be part of something lasting — a space that will be enjoyed by generations to come.

Please donate today and help make Burscough's sporting hub a reality for the whole community!

Thank you to Sport England and Burscough Town Council for their valuble support. 💌

Building on our Community Unity Through Sports development, Phase 2 will create dedicated areas for physical literacy, core strength, climbing, challenge and inclusive active play, supporting children from Reception to Year 6.

The project has two development areas:

KS1 Core Gym Zone (estimated £20,000) - a dedicated core gym zone for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, with monkey bars, overhead movement equipment, an agility trail and core-strength activity stations.

Adventure Climbing Zone (estimated £35,000) - a larger climbing and challenge area with a rope pyramid or climbing tower, cargo climbing net, adventure trail, monkey-bar challenge route and team-building challenges.

With groundworks, surfacing, landscaping and contingency, our total fundraising target is £70,000.

Your support will improve children's physical literacy and long-term health, increase inclusive activity for children with SEND, and create a clear progression from KS1 core development to KS2 challenge, responding directly to what our pupils have asked for.
